Abstract: Renal cell carcinoma is one of the most common kidney cancer in adults and it is currently treated with nephrectomy (complete or partial removal of kidney tissues). Robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) provides advantages over laparoscopic surgery in terms of outcomes, safety, and costs but still has some drawbacks related to the visualization of the surgical field and risk of unwanted injuries. In this study is proposed an automatic and fast renal artery segmentation from intra-operative robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) videos.
