Peter Richtarik is a professor at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, primarily working in the area of big data optimization and machine learning. He is known for his work on randomized coordinate descend algorithms, stochastic gradient descent, and federated learning. He is also the co-inventor of Federated Learning, a Google platform to improve communication efficiency, as well as data privacy.
