Since March 2020, Dr. Nuria Oliver has been appointed Commissioner for the President of the Valencian Region on Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Data Science applied to the fight against COVID-19. This talk describes the initial results of the large-scale human mobility modeling and computational epidemiological modeling. Nuria is Chief Data Scientist at Data-Pop Alliance, Chief Scientific Advisor at the Vodafone Institute and co-founder of ELLIS (The European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems). She was the first female Scientific Director at Telefonica R&D and the first Director of Research in Data Science at Vodafone globally. The 7th ACM Celebration of Women in Computing, womENcourage 2020, took place virtually in Baku, Azerbaijan on 24-27 September 2020. Welcoming 200+ participants registered from about 40 countries and 5 continents, the 4-day event included the Conference segment on Day 1 and 2 with keynote speeches and panel discussions, workshops and tutorials, as well as poster presentations from student researchers, and Expo segment on Day 3 and 4 with Career Fair, where supporting companies arranged promotion and hiring sessions, and Hackathon competition among participating teams.
